Olhos de Agua - an overview
Olhos d'Agua is a quaint fishing village that provides a welcome contrast to many other holiday resorts in the Algarve. Olhos d'Agua means 'eyes of water', as at times spring water can be seen bubbling up through the sand at low tide. Originally a traditional fishing village with its' own fish market it is now a growing resort boasting excellent restaurants and a small choice of shops and bars. It is a quieter, more rural resort with the benefit of a busier resort, Albufeira, nearby (approx. 6km reached by bus or taxi).
Olhos d'Aguas' small and hospitable style make it a great place for those wishing to relax and watch the world go by. The pine-clad cliffs are a dramatic backdrop and add to the sense of seclusion. Life in Olhos d'Agua will be the right choice if you like to holiday at a leisurely pace in a beautiful setting.
The evenings are a perfect time to indulge in the slow pace of life in Olhos d'Agua. Take a walk along the seafront followed by dinner at one of the restaurants that take advantage of some fantastic sea views.
