Benidorm Old Town - an overview
Benidorm Old Town is set around the crescent beach of Playa Poniente with accommodation stretching back in land from the ambling narrow streets and port. Benidorm Old Town meets the new town and Playa Levante beach on a rocky headland near where the heart of the holiday resort can be found and the small, relatively unknown Malpas beach can be seen, below the port and castle cliffs. Playa Poniente beach is nearly 4km long and gently shelving so ideal for childrens holidays, it has many facilities nearby and offers watersports and life guards in the summer season.
Benidorm Old Town and centre are the more traditional, authentic Spain we love with its blue domed church, maze of cobbled streets and restaurants serving local produce from the port, tapas and paella served in bodegas.
Nearby are Mundomar Water World with dancing dolphins, sea lion and parrot shows and an extensive aquarium and Aqualandia, a wet and wild water park with more than 20 rides and areas. The Terra Mitica theme park is an excellent place to take the family for rides, shows and attractions and just on the edge of the resort it can be reached by bus.
Benidorm is a lively year round holiday resort with a wide choice of accommodation to suit all budgets and many activities for the young and old making it the ultimate resort for all ages seeking a lively atmosphere.
