Arenal - an overview
Arenal's newly constructed waterfront promenade brings this resort from being one of the first developments of Majorcan tourism into the modern day. Positioned centrally in the South of the island it is at the Eastern end of the 6 kilometres of beach known as Playa de Palma and only 10km from Palma town. The beach runs from C'an Pastilla, through Playa de Palma, and finally on to Arenal although for most it is now nearly impossible to determine where one resort ends and the other begins. The three resorts are joined by a wide pedestrian promenade which is completely flat and ideal for people with walking difficulties, or families with young children in prams or wheelchairs. If you don't fancy the walk between the resorts, a popular Mini Train runs along the promenade - a must for children.
Arenal generally attracts the young and lively in the summer months who enjoy the local bars and nightlife and more couples and families in the mid-low seasons. The Golf Fantasia mini-golf course is a 54 hole crazy golf course set in a Jurassic park setting and can certainly keep you entertained or if water is more your sport then head off to Aqualand where water slides, pools, shows and much more are on offer in the island's largest water park.
