Calas de Mallorca - an overview

Calas de Mallorca is in the South East of Majorca and set on a cliff top with stunning views over the sea and an approximate transfer time of 90 minutes from Palma airport.  Calas de Mallorca is a quieter, well-established, self-contained resort with shops, bars and restaurants and best suited to couples and families.  The Playa Domingo beach is certainly the main attraction and in past years has been awarded the European Blue Flag, it offers a selection of water sports.  Calas de Mallorca has a rugged coastline, nearby golf course, coves and the famous Caves of Drach are close by to visit.

The Caves of Drach are a famous tourist attraction and home to Lake Martel, one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world. First entered in 1896 where a natural niche in the rock allows spectacular views of Lago Martel, and the new part of the cave beyond, which is known as Cueva de los Franceses (Cave of the French). You can take a boat ride on the lake and see the beautiful limestone formations, including stalagmites and stalactites and as part of the journey underground, you are accompanied by the sound of musicians performing classical music from a boat.
